Ruby recieved at least one blood transfusion a day while on ECMO. Some days she received 3 or 4 in addition to blood products. Instead of sending gifts that she will eventually outgrow please consider donating blood in her name. This will help save another babies life.
If you live in Central Texas please donate at The Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas. When donating please fill out "Stat Card" for Ruby Hope McKee Starling. This insures that the blood will be donated in honor of Ruby.
If you live outside of Texas (and we still haven't figured out why anyone would do that) please look up your nearest Red Cross donation center. When donating please tell them it is in honor of Ruby Hope McKee Starling.
Both places will keep track of how much blood was donated in Ruby's name. The kindness of strangers helped save Ruby's life. Please consider helping us save another child's life in Ruby's name.
