Moving forward

We hope everyone is having a good week.  It's an OK one at our house.  Ruby has started refusing more and more solids.  Of course this is after I told her Doctors that she's eating solids really really well.  I should learn to not say anything.  We are still going unplugged every Friday night and Saturday.  Our mini goal is to get to go the whole weekend.   I'm having a hard time dealing with feeding her this week. It's frustrating and sometimes it gets to me more than others.  We'll be fine, it just takes a lot of deep breaths on my part.

Ruby is such a happy go lucky baby.  She loves to laugh and play.  Her personality is really wonderful.  She's really really close to crawling.  We've been sprinkling cat nip around her on the floor.  That way the cats will hangout for a long period of time just out of her reach.  She squeals with excitement and tries so hard to crawl to them.  I think a couple weeks of this she'll be moving.  I'm sure putting the Christmas tree up this weekend will ensure she becomes more mobile.  She is now rolling around to get from one point to another.  She is also willingly playing on her tummy, which is a new thing this week.

Here are a couple pictures from yesterday.  Ruby is finally big enough to wear the out fit Gabby's Mom gave me.

Hi Holly and Chris, I love

Hi Holly and Chris,
I love this website...I've been checking in pretty regularly since you brought Ruby home and I am amazed and delighted with her progress. She's a cutie that's for sure. It seems you are doing an outstanding job juggling all the things new parents have to do and finding the joy in the day to day adventures. Have a wonderful day!

Cute, cute, cute! :) Holly,

Cute, cute, cute! :)

Holly, I, too have been getting really frustrated with Jaime's feeding issues! It's hard because "eating" is such a natural thing and our kids can careless if they eat or not! It makes me so sad! I had a frustrating morning and then I took Jaime to the drs. today. We put him back on O2 for feeds and sleep, hopefully that will help!
I LOVE seeing how developmentally appropriate Little Miss Ruby is, who would have ever thought she was on ECMO last spring?!?
She's adorable! She needs to call Jaime and tell him that it's fun to sit up and be on his tummy! Jaime's still not a fan of "tummy time" and is too uncoordinated to sit up. He tries, though! :)
Hope you have a good weekend...and that it's less frustrating in the feeding department!
Hugs,
Sheryl
