- August 14th, 2008 - Positive beta hCG, confirmation we are pregnant!
- August 28th, 2008 - 7week ultrasound, WE HEARD A HEART BEAT!
- September 10th, 2008 - Released from Texas Fertility Center to OB.
- October 8th, 2008 - 12 weeks 6 days, 1st trimester screen ultrasound.
- October 16th, 2008 - 14 weeks end of the 1st trimester.
- Dec 1st, 2008 - Ruby is diagnosed with CDH during her 20 week "anatomy scan" level II ultrasound
- December 3, 2008 - FISH results from Amnio , no trisomy 13, 18, or 21.
- December 5th, 2008 - Confirmation of CDH by Perinatalogist in Austin, given 30-50% chance of survival.
- December 17th, 2008 - Level II Ultrasound at Texas Children's Hospital with Perinatalogist. Told she didn't have a severe case.
- Jan 7th, 2009 - Day 1 of CHOP visit: Ultrafast MRI, Echocardiogram, Level II Ultrasound, meet surgeon & MFM docs, given a 90% survival rate.
- Jan 8th, 2009 - Day 2 of CHOP visit: tour L&D, NICU and meet with social worker about housing options
- Jan 12th, 2009 - Visit Texas Children's Hospital: UF MRI, Echo, L2 U/S, meet surgeon, tour L&D and NICU
- January 16th, 2009 - We decide to deliver Ruby at CHOP
- February 25th, 2009 - Holly flies to Philadelphia because of concerns over preterm labor
- March 1st, 2009 - Chris arrives in Philadelphia after 3-day drive.
- March 5th, 2009 - 34 weeks
- April 9th, 2009 - We pack our bags and report at the CHOP Special Delivery Unit at 5:00pm to begin induction.
- April 10th, 2009 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Ruby is born at 4:31pm
- April 13th, 2009 - Ruby goes onto VA ECMO due to pulmonary hypertension
- April 16th, 2009 - Ruby's original due date
- April 29th, 2009 - 1st ECMO circuit change (on ECMO day 16)
- May 4th, 2009 - 2nd ECMO circuit change (on ECMO day 21)
- May 5th, 2009 - Right chest tube installed to drain fluid off her "good" lung
- May 9th, 2009 - Ruby goes off ECMO (26 days!) and begins breathing with her own lungs, assisted by the ventilator
- May 12th, 2009 - Ruby has surgery to repair her diaphragmatic hernia
- May 14th, 2009 - Left chest tube installed to drain fluid off her "bad" lung
- May 16th, 2009 - We get to hold Ruby in our arms for the first time
- May 22nd, 2009 - Ruby is extubated and begins breathing on her own with the help of a high-flow nasal cannula. Also, right chest tube removed and Ruby was moved from a warmer bed to a big girl crib
- May 25th, 2009 - Detour onto CPAP
- May 29th, 2009 - Off of CPAP back onto high-flow nasal cannula
- June 2nd, 2009 - switch from high-flow nasal cannula to regular oxygen cannula
- June 3rd, 2009 - first time breastfeeding and bottle feeding.
- June 11th, 2009 - received regular infant vaccines
- June 23rd, 2009 - started 7 days of antibiotics for possible infection at surgical incision
- June 27th, 2009 - breathing 21% oxygen ("room air") through nasal cannula
- July 3rd, 2009 - nasal cannula removed
- July 7th, 2009 - completely weaned off Versed
- July 10th, 2009 - completely weaned off morphine
- July 13th, 2009 - DISCHARGED! Ruby comes home to our apartment in Philadelphia
- July 30th Ruby comes home to Austin.
